I love Halloween. I mean I’m not big on the super creepy scary stuff, but I enjoy the time trick or treating with our girls and dressing up. We normally throw a party the day of and of course a theme to go with it. However, this year we decided to keep it simple and I am so glad we did. I love planning a party, but sometimes you just need a break.
Clara and Luci are so funny about dressing up too. Normally they want a curtain change so they can wear two different costumes! This year I only had one that insisted on being Minnie mouse and then a pirate princess, lol. Clara was content just being a pirate princess.

So I don’t know about you, but we end up with a lot of leftover Halloween candy. Honestly, I think I am buying too much, but who wants to run out too early. Here are some fun ways to get rid of your left over’s. Your kiddos will enjoy helping too.
- Send your leftover candy to the troops overseas! We did this two years ago and my girls loved the process. Mind you I didn’t make them give up all their hard earned trick or treat candy, that would be cruel! Go to…Operation Gratitude for more info.
- Include some candy in an Operation Christmas Child box. This is another great thing to involve your children in. You can fill so much love in a shoebox that gets shipped to a child overseas! Check out how you can send one HERE.
- Make delicious banana bread with leftover Reese’s peanut butter cups! I found this delicious recipe HERE. This recipe is amazing and surprisingly not too sweet.

There you have it, I hope you enjoyed these ideas to enjoy with your family.
