Why do things seem to always happen in threes? Seriously just when I was like ugh really one more thing to go wrong, it did! This past weekend Phoenix hit RECORD HEAT, this always makes me laugh because we have record heat all summer and into what should be Fall and it’s still hotter than you know what! Well to give the Arizona forecasters their due credit it was hotter than normal this time of year reaching almost 116 degrees! If someone has told you it’s a dry heat it is like walking around in an oven. Ok so this article is not about the weather or my whoa’s about it here in Phoenix in the summer time. I mention it because after driving home from church this past Sunday we heard a big bang like something heavy had dropped onto the top of our mini van! My husband opened the moonroof and wouldn’t you know it completely had shattered and the funny thing is nothing hit us. Check out the way it broke too super weird and we totally blame the RECORD HEAT! So this was the first thing to happen.
Then the following day my husband noticed a decent sized area of water flooding the side of our house in the back yard. He was so worried it was our pool leaking. Thank goodness he is super mechanical when it comes to figuring out these little home snafus! So it wasn’t our pool thank goodness because holy moly when we are not hunkered inside with the air conditioning blasting we live in our pool all summer to beat that record heat!
So turns out one of our irrigation lines was broken and this was the cause of the little moat that was forming on the side of our house. On the same day literally an hour after we could fix this problem I walk into Clara’s room to find her shade cord had snapped off! I know, I know these are seriously not major things and all of these things can be fixed and will be fixed, but you see totally in threes! Call me superstitious, but it totally happens and it has twice now.
Later that evening I laughed and told my husband remember how this same sorta thing happened like three years ago? I know more in threes here. Well I was totally freaking out and there was zero laughing at the time. I’m glad I can laugh about it all now though. So three years ago I broke my first iphone and I was so pissed about it. Then our “my” kitchen sink, I consider the kitchen my domain hopefully I’m not the only one who claims this as their territory ha ha. So for days there was a flood under my kitchen sink! I just couldn’t deal at this point. The icing on the cake the big number three was that Clara stuck a tiny, green bead she had found in the backyard up her little nostril! We were so chalant about it too, like totally optimistic this little, green bead would just easily blow itself out of her nose. Nope lesson learned here we should have taken her in the same day, but we didn’t and besides her very calm nature about it and our’s the thing was lodged and not coming out. The day I am realizing all of this my hubby is at work, my phone is in shambles and the sink! I almost had a melt down and I’m so glad I called my Dad. I’m so blessed with two parents who are medical and he was my sound of reason in the midst of chaos. He was so calm and he said this is what we are gonna do. Kevin and I are going to take Clara to the ER and you are going to stay home because you have Luci and you are still nursing her. At first I thought no I’m mom and she needs me there, but I trusted my Dad and I’m so glad I did because he was right. He not only was offering to help me, but he knew it was going to be too traumatic for both Clara and I if I was there. Everything worked out the way it was suppose to and Clara was so brave about the whole thing. She even gave the Doctor a hug after her little procedure. I am totally that mom that kept the evidence to show her when she is all grown up too! Have you ever had life hand you things in threes? I would love to hear about it!
