My baby girl Clara is 7 today!
I feel like all I say right now is how fast time flies by! How is it that I gave birth to this beautiful, first-born daughter of mine seven years ago today?
She made me a mommy for the very first time and my heart felt like it grew twice as big the day she was born. Just writing this makes me well up with beautiful tears all over again.
Clara has given both her daddy and me so much joy over the years. She is both gentle and sweet and wild free all at the same time! Her heart is soo BIG and she loves hard. This is one of my favorite things about her.
I am always so impressed she can make a friend anywhere she goes and she is so kind to others even when others are not always kind to her. The mama bear in me wants to always shield and protect her from the evils of this world, but I know I can’t always do that.
She is 7 today and she is growing up so fast!
Just in the last year, Clara enjoys playing soccer, has grown several inches, lost three teeth and is the proud owner of an iPod and headphones! Yes, and she is already asking for her own phone too, lol! Totally a topic for another blog post someday I think. (Something like, “why do pre tween’s want cell phones”?) Ugh, right?
Well, she keeps us on our toes and we keep telling her she has plenty of time to grow up AND little girls do not need cell phones!
God blessed us greatly with Clara and I feel so incredibly privileged He chose me to be her mother and I know her daddy feels the exact same way about being her daddy.
